In June 2023, I took off on a solo journey through Japan. It was my first time so far away from home for an extended period.

Surprisingly, I didn't feel lonely. Instead, I found myself savoring the tranquility of everyday life.

During my journey, I discovered a fascinating Japanese concept called Shibumi (渋み) which values the beauty of austerity, almost glorifying its profound "emptiness".

As depicted on the photos I captured during my trip (on next pages), I aspired to infuse the essence of Shibumi into a minimalist aesthetic.

With little ornaments, I aim for a natural wearability that conceals a sublte elegance, without regard to gender.

There is a quote I love from Miles Davis: "Don't play what's there, play what's not there." To me, it resonates as finding joy in the unspoken moments, much like the enigmatic charm of Shibumi.
